“Bringing Our Communities Closer Together Through Sports”
[Teams And Programs Covered]

Throughout the year, East L.A. Sports Scene has had the privilege of covering and highlighting our Major League Baseball (MLB) team, the Los Angeles Dodgers; our Major League Soccer (MLS) team, the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC); our National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, the Angel City Football Club (ACFC); our Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) Los Angeles Sparks; and our two National Football League (NFL) teams, the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Over a year-long situational awareness effort, all of our city’s professional teams collaborated to form the “We Are L.A. Strong” alliance, established in response to the tragic January 7th wildfires that devastated the communities of Pacific Palisades and Altadena. The teams responded immediately and conducted numerous outreach events throughout the year to continue providing support. Our coverage included several stories.
During a team’s regular season, we covered games and press conferences. We were also present at special, impactful community outreach programs, and, to round out our reporting activities, at the much-anticipated, season-driven community events sponsored by most teams.

Among other professional sports organizations and events we covered were the NASCAR Cup Series (Mexico City), professional boxing, and USA Basketball.

We’ve also brought our “Spotlight On” featured stories to life by following two student-athletes: one who attended Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) for women’s Division II basketball, and the other, who represented the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) for men’s Division I basketball.

As we continue to provide our wide range of local sports coverage, we’ve met with athletes and coaches and learned about their programs as often as possible. And for that, we are grateful for the access, trust, and support from all the teams, schools, organizations, families, and communities we continue to meet along this incredible journey in life.
We look forward to continuing to share the stories, moments, and traditions that make our East Los Angeles & Beyond sports communities so special in the year ahead. In closing, we hope you’ve enjoyed this quick snapshot of our work this year. And once again, we express our sincerest thanks for your firm and loyal support of our efforts.
