Note #1 From The Editor: Autu
mn 2015 has finally arrived, weather wise, and we can now say Good-Bye/Adios to the craziest summer heat we’ve experienced in quite a while. However, things are still hot and simmering on the high school gridiron and nearly every player’s, coach’s, and team’s expectations for a successful season remain high on their very welcomed Field of Dreams.
Of our nine designated and covered schools, very high playoff expectations are in the offering for Garfield, South Gate, Wilson, Bishop Amat, and Cathedral. Probables could be in the making for Roosevelt, Lincoln and Salesian, depending on the outcomes of their final two-game stretch. This marks the second year in a row that eight of our nine schools are still in the playoff hunt, and that’s definitely a good sign of the times for our teams and communities.
Note #2 From The Editor: Thanks for following our “Week #9 Round-Up” summary just as you’ve done all season long. Please check our recently added playoff forecasts, spend some time viewing the great photo galleries we include on a weekly basis, and then lastly, we sincerely ask that you please share it with all of your networks. This posting’s Photo Galleries includes last week’s coverage of the Cathedral “Phantoms” vs. St. Francis and the Bishop Amat “Lancers” vs. Chaminade.
Lastly, we would also like to show our solidarity, support, and commemoration for the national month of October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month recognition by all of our schools. Commending All for a job very well done!! Rico Cabrera, Sr./Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com

<Brief Playoff Forecast By Team> Rico Cabrera, Sr./Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com
<L.A. City Schools>
Eastern League:
Garfield “Bulldogs” – Playoff spot secured. Home field advantage will depend on the seeding committee’s decision.
South Gate “Rams” – Same forecast for the undefeated Rams. A good seed is definitely in the cards.
Roosevelt “Rough Riders” – Need to finish with a winning record for probable inclusion in the post-season playoffs.
Northern League:
Wilson “Mighty Mules” – Virtually assured of a playoff spot. Only question will be the seeding location.
Lincoln “Tigers” – It’s very doable, but much is riding on winning out in the last two League games.
Torres “Toros” – Not a candidate for this season.
<CIF Southern Section>
Bishop Amat “Lancers” – Playoff picture looks very good. A high playoff seeding is at stake.
Cathedral “Phantoms” – Playoffs are on their horizon. Need to finish Angelus League with big wins for high seed.
Salesian “Mustangs“ – Playoffs are still probable due to League record. May need help from other teams to make it in.
