Note #1 From The Editor: USC’s“Women of Troy”are on a mission to win the NCAA Women’s Division-I Volleyball Championship, with the accompanying rights to be called the 2015 National Champions. The #1 seeded team in the (64) team tournament started their run with a convincing 1st round win over the Cleveland St. “Vikings”with a(4-1) victory. The win took place on the Trojans’ home court at Galen Center, as it was designated by the NCAA to be the host site for the first two rounds of play under the San Diego Regional.
Led into battle by their Senior, Outide Hitter, and two-time All-American, Samantha Bricio, one of the NCAA’s D-1 most feared and respected players, the Trojans simply put on their game face and took care of their business in a strong, competitive manner. Head Coach, Mick Haley once again did a masterful job in playing a very sound rotation of student-athletes who gained invaluable tournament experience, and who also benefitted greatly from playing in this widely-followed and increasingly watched women’s college sport. It has very recently evolved into a greater viewer sport due in large part to the PAC-12’s and other Major-level D-1 conferences committing themselves to consistent cable tv network scheduling of conference matches.
For serious Trojan volleyball fans, this is yet another opportunity to follow a team on their path to another coveted national championship. We hope you enjoy our dual production format of video with match highlights, post-match interviews with both teams, as well as another great photo gallery shot by Erik Sarni.
