
(East Los Angeles, CA) [From The Editor’s Desk]: For all of our viewers and fans of USA Basketball (USAB) and the governance it has over all of our multiple Team USAs in a variety of Men’s and Women’s categories and tournament brackets whenever they are announced for international competition purposes, this piece will start our coverage of the upcoming Men’s Tournament for the World Classic of Basketball, aka, the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup. Our Women’s National Team won the 2022 FIBA World Cup that took place last year in Australia. China took second and Australia, third.

We will bring you as much news from USA Basketball regarding the Men’s path to the newly re-designed and refined FIBA 2023 World Cup. This will be the first time that the tournament will be contested by (32) teams representing a much broader section of countries who play the sport and have waited patiently for this new era of global competition to begin.

USA Basketball Announces Agreement with DCT Abu Dhabi
2023 USA Basketball Showcase to Feature Exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates
Colorado Springs, Colorado – USA Basketball announced in early March, an agreement with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), under which the United States will host three games in Abu Dhabi featuring the men’s national teams from the U.S., Germany and Greece. The USA Basketball Showcase Abu Dhabi represents USA Basketball’s first men’s national team activity in the United Arab Emirates.
In preparation for the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup, the U.S. Men’s National Team will host Greece and Germany on Aug. 18 and 20, respectively. Germany and Greece are set to play on Aug. 19th.

“USA Basketball is thrilled to work with DCT Abu Dhabi to bring the USA Basketball Showcase to Abu Dhabi. The U.S. officially qualified for the 2023 FIBA World Cup last month. One of seven teams set to represent FIBA Americas in the 32-team field, the USA will play all its games in Manila as the tournament is set for Aug. 25-Sept. 10, in Indonesia, Japan and The Philippines. The World Cup draw is set for Saturday, April 29, 2023, in Manila.
