Passionate East L.A. high school football fans should enjoy our milestone coverage of the Torres “Toros” as they play host to the Linda Esperanza Marquez HS, School of Social Justice, “Gladiators” in this CIF/L.A. City Schools 1st Round, Division 3 Playoff game. The “Toros” come into this game with their best Overall (6-3) and Central League (4-1) records in its brief three-year existence. Head Coach Peter Cuevas proudly steps into the school’s historical “Spotlight” as he brings his deeply veteran, very confident, and well-tested team into this huge game. For Marquez HS, located in Huntington Park, and representative of the newly created Expo League, this also marks the occasion with their first-ever appearance in a playoff game.
