Recap/Game Day 3/
Team USA wasted no time in getting after the “Kiwis” from New Zealand. Picking up where they both left off from yesterday’s big win, Team USA’s “Dynamic Duo,” and new international “Trapeze Act,” of Kenneth Faried & Anthony Davis, propelled Coach K’s starting five to a comfortable lead of 22 points by half, (57-35). It was cruise control in the 2nd half as all players scored. With the team’s 3rd consecutive win, they remain atop & undefeated in Group “C” pool play. A composite breakdown of the game reflects dominance in these Team USA numbers: Rebounds 48/Assists 21/Steals 14/Blkd Shots 4/FG % 51.5. The final score read USA 98 New Zealand 71. Leading Team USA scorers today were: Davis, (21), Faried, (15), J. Harden (13), S. Curry (12), K. Thompson (12), and K. Irving (10). Be sure to watch for more “high-flying acts” to come, and lastly, per Coach K’s post-game comment, look for Derrick Rose to get more playing time with the starting five.
