(East Los Angeles, CA) July 27, 2022 [From The Editor’s Desk]: The WNBA’s Sparks 6-9 center, Liz Cambage, made big headlines here in Los Angeles when she agreed to the divorcement of her player and roster status as a member of the team. This all arose in “head-turning” wonderment. As of yesterday, she will no longer suit-up due to her agreement to part ways now. Here is the Sparks official press announcement.

“It is with support that we share Liz Cambage’s decision to terminate her contract with the organization,” Sparks Managing Partner Eric Holoman said. “We want what’s best for Liz and have agreed to part ways amicably. The Sparks remain excited about our core group and are focused on our run towards a 2022 playoff berth.”

Cambage, 30, was originally signed by the Sparks on Feb. 15th as a free agent. The 6-foot-9 center held averages of (13.0) points, (6.4) rebounds and (1.6) blocks in (25) games this season.

The Sparks next game is Thursday, July 28 on the road against the Phoenix Mercury at 7:00 p.m. PT on CBS Sports Network.
