Jul 9, 2024
Dodger Fans are actually, and we'd like to add here, symbolically, and gratefully shown in our Featured Image regarding their fantastic MLB All-Star voting efforts for Shohei Ohtani to be a starter in the game. A total of (6) Dodgers were named to the National League West roster. All Dodger fans have a great deal to be thankful for with the selection of our outstanding players who will soon be headed to Arlington, Texas for the playing of Major League Baseball's 94th Midsummer Classic, All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 16th. A huge Congratulations goes out to our loyal and tremendously supportive Dodgers Nation for helping to make Shohei an All-Star starter in his first season as a Dodger. (East Los Angeles, CA) [From The Editor’s Desk]: The Los Angeles Dodgers will be sending a total of six players to the 94th Midsummer Classic to be played in Arlington, TX, Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, July 16th. This Dodgers all-around and powerful National League contingent will be led by shortstop, Mookie Betts; Designated Hitter, (DH), Shohei Ohtani; first baseman, Freddie Freeman; catcher, Will Smith; outfielder, Teoscar Hernández; and pitcher, Tyler Glasnow.

These six outstanding Dodgers were selected in the following manner. Per MLB, the starting position players are selected via fan voting. The rest of the All-Star rosters are decided through player voting, with the commissioner’s office filling in any gaps. The two All-Star managers — Bruce Bochy (Rangers) and Torey Lovullo (Diamondbacks) this year — no longer select players.

The following pre-All-Star game events will also take place in Globe Life Field: HBCU Swingman Classic on Friday, 7/12; the 2024 MLB All-Star Saturday, 7/13; the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby on Monday, 7/15; followed by the Game on Tuesday, 7/16. Go to MLB.com  and then to the All-Star Game tab to see what the All-Star Week activities will offer to those fans able to attend.

Read more details and learn more background on each of our Dodger players in this press announcement released by the team.
