As we all know, 2020 unfortunately saw the unexpected arrival of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. And with that horrible and deadly fact of life, it was followed by yet another big change, that to date still calls for a serious addressing to our social justice system here in our country. These two forces managed to deeply intertwine themselves into the daily fabric of our lives. Then, add to those two devastating issues, the closing of thousands of public and private schools, the Congressional economic relief packages to the adversely impacted millions of American workers and their families, especially to first responders, and then to complete the cycle of change, add the Presidential election that provided all citizens and voters the right to express their choices at the ballot box. And now here we are as we celebrate the 2020 Christmas season, the end of this most unforgettable year, and the start of a brand New Year, 2021.
One aspect of our lives that bent, but did not break, was the professional and collegiate sports industry. And, as of last March 12th, with that new perspective on sports media coverage, we at East L.A. Sports Scene did our best to cover the professional teams that found different ways to provide the country and the world with sporting events that allowed us to enjoy and follow our respective favorite teams in action, although no fans were allowed to attend. As a reminder, we did conclude our sports productions for 2020 right at the end of the Boys & Girls High school basketball seasons.
Now, some 10 months later, we’re at the end of 2020 and are very hopeful that 2021 will arrive providing us all with more relief, better health, and a greater peace of mind as we all look forward to our vaccinations to counter and arrest the spread of the deadly virus. There is renewed hope that we are looking at the end of the pandemic sometime during the New Year of 2021.
In the meantime we’ll be doing our best to bring you the most interesting, and the most available sporting events that are in the scope of our coverage. We are very hopeful that High School sports will once more become an integral part of our coverage as we await the State, County, and City’s Public Safety and Health rules and regulations that will help and guide us to slowly, but surely return to our normal ways of life.
In closing, a gentle and humble reminder to take care of yourselves and your Families. Thanks once again for all of the loyalty and support you’ve given to us here at East L.A. Sports Scene, through all these so many years. It’s been our great pleasure and joy to offer all of our followers from East L.A. and Beyond, our most unique sports media coverage. Be Safe, and most importantly, Be Back with us for a New Year of production.
