(East Los Angeles, CA) [From The Editor’s Desk]: Initially, a majority of LAFC fans had learned of the great news surrounding the return of Carlos Vela to his team. Then on Wednesday, September 18th, our entire city became aware of the Club’s decision to re-sign “El Capitán” #10/Carlos Vela, for the remainder of this season when a major Press Conference was held at BMO Stadium just a couple of hours before the team’s scheduled Major League Soccer (MLS) match with Austin FC.

The highly popular and still the most valuable player in LAFC history, Vela will be a most welcomed-back addition to the Black & Gold as they make their way towards the end of the regular season and then hopefully move ahead and onto the playoffs in search of another MLS Cup Championship. A win or draw in Cincinnati will secure the Black & Gold’s spot in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. LAFC can also clinch if FC Dallas loses or draws on Saturday.

Vela is one of the most decorated players in MLS history. He can be viewed in this (20:00) minute video of his Press Conference as he answered a wide array of questions from the media organizations present, in both Spanish and English and explained his major decision to return to the pitch for the Black & Gold, coupled with his hopes of adding the next chapter to his legendary career with the Club.

We encourage those of you who have not yet viewed the video on YouTube to take the time and do so. To view it, please click here. Vela should be with the team when they travel to play FC Cincinnati on Saturday, 9/28. Kick-off is set for 4;30 pm and can be viewed on MLS Season Pass – Apple TV and listened to on radio over 710 AM ESPN, ESPN LA App, and KFWB 980 AM La Mera Mera.
