LAFC earned their first-round “Bye” because they won the Supporters Shield for having the best season record of (21W-9L-4D= 67 points) in the MLS this year. The Galaxy earned their spot by defeating the Nashville SC in the first-round playoff last Saturday. Their season-ending record was good for a 4th place Western Conference finish at (14W-12L-8D=50 points).

This is going to be a match like no other in the history of these two franchises, and the winner will go on to the Final round for a chance to compete for the Audi 2022 Cup Title.
