(East Los Angeles, CA) [From The Editor’s Desk]: After a very long layoff due to the FIFA World Cup competitions, the Black & Gold once again followed their regular match day routine when they hosted the visiting El Salvador National Team in a “Friendly” match at BMO Stadium on July 5th. It was a very warm day, and the short-sleeve casual attire in this sunny afternoon Los Angeles basin weather was nearly perfect for the start of the 3:00 pm game.
We now bring you the summary of the match from the Club’s Communications Department, coupled with their outstanding photo gallery that will give everyone a very good look at both the players in action and the excitement, with very happy crowd shots of both the Black & Gold and the highly enthusiastic El Salvador supporters.
LAFC DEFEATS EL SALVADOR 3-0 IN FRIENDLY MATCH AT BMO STADIUM
LAFC defeated the El Salvador National Team 3-0 in a friendly at BMO Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Playing against an opponent for the first time since the start of the MLS break in late May for the World Cup, LAFC got goals from Mark Delgado, Jeremy Ebobisse, and Ryan Hollingshead to secure the victory.
Delgado opened the scoring in the 4th minute, collecting a pass from Eddie Segura at the top of the box before placing a right-footed shot just inside the post, past the dive of the El Salvador goalkeeper.
Just before halftime, Ebobisse doubled the lead for LAFC, volleying Denis Bouanga’s left-wing cross into the net from the center of the box to send LAFC into the halftime break with a 2-0 advantage.

Ryan Hollingshead rounded out the scoring for LAFC in the 60th minute when he reacted quickest to the rebound of a Bouanga shot and fired his shot home from close range, giving LAFC a 3-0 victory.
[MLS Update]: The Black & Gold resumed MLS Regular Season action on Friday, July 17, to face their fierce rival, the L.A. Galaxy and secured a convincing victory at their home stadium, Dignity Health Sports Park, by the full-time score of 3-0. Stay tuned for this story in our next update.
