CCCAA State Tournament Update From The Editor: The #6 seeded East L.A. College “Lady Huskies” defied the selection committee odds and righteously made believers out of those who thought they had no chance of upsetting the #2 seeded Mt. San Jacinto “Lady Eagles” in the crucial game to determine the right to punch their ticket to the CCCAA’s “Final Four” and the Road to the State Championship. Head Coach Bruce Turner and his proud team simply and confidently declare… let the record books show this Final score—ELAC (76) Mt. San Jacinto (65).
Now, here is the next phase of “March Madnesss” for the team. ELAC, (23-9) overall this year, will play the North’s #1 seed, City College of San Francisco (28-3), in the first of two semifinal games. Game time is 5 p.m. at Las Positas College on Friday, March 11th in Livermore, CA. Both the Men’s and Women’s Finals are Sunday, March 13th. Rico Cabrera, Sr.,/Managing Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com
