(West Hollywood, CA) — Thursday, July 19th, was a perfect 2018 L.A. summer day at the West Hollywood Recreation Center for a fun, yet very passionate sporting event highlighting the world’s most popular sport, Futbol/Soccer. This inaugural House of Soccer-Los Angeles/International Champions Cup (ICC), event was perfectly timed to come on the heels of the recently concluded World Cup Final. With that said, and most fans’ favorite game memories still in mind, what more could the avid futbol/soccer fan, or the public ask for, than to be attending this amazing on-line RSVP event. We invite you to view our production and see just a sample of the action, the activities, and the interviews that took place.
One of the event’s main attractions was a mini-tournament that included local co-ed youth soccer club teams from Southern Cal. And for those fans who wanted to take in the full flavor of a beautiful summer outing, there were food booths, “live” music performers, celebrity barbers, nail manicurists, plus several merchandising booths that included sales of many of the Top World Soccer Clubs’ team jerseys.

However, the main event of the day was the FAMJAM 2018 in which established, and rising celebrities from the both the sports and music worlds mixed it all up on the pitch with 5 on 5 teams, and a number of specially added rules that kept the players always on their toes throughout the match. Team OBJ (Odell Beckham Jr./N.Y. Giants) went up against Team Dray (Draymond Green/Golden State Warriors) and to the fans’ delight, the match ended up in a regulation (7-7) tie. The eventual winning goal came on a penalty kick that sent Team OBJ into the winner’s circle.
In the early phase of the event, L.A.’s House of Soccer/ICC Ambassadors, Mia Hamm, U.S. Olympian, 2 x Gold Medalist and Paolo Maldini, now retired and an internationally acclaimed legendary Pro from AC Milan, were coordinators for the youth soccer matches on the pitch. The event’s main promoter was Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent, New York, NY. All three took time to speak directly to East L.A. Sports Scene about the Los Angeles House of Soccer Kick-Off.
At the end of the day, it was a fun time well-spent by the 1,000 + fans who came out to enjoy the “beautiful” celebration of their sport. We leave you with this last meaningful experience of the event. Overheard in unison among the exiting crowd was the one word that significantly provokes the raw and deep emotion in their zest, passion, and love for futbol/soccer—-Gooooooooaaaaaallllll!! And now, it’s match time in the Battle for the International Champions Cup. We remind everyone to get your tickets as soon as possible, as large crowds are expected to attend.
