Note From The Editor: East L.A. Sports Scene responded to L.A. City Council Member Jose Huizar’s community advisory to join him, the NBA’s L.A. Clippers, The California Endowment, and the Department of Recreation & Parks, in highlighting the dedication of a newly refurbished outdoor basketball court, as well as the grand opening of a greatly needed children’s campus playground area. Have a look and see the Clippers “Spirit”Dance Team conduct an energetic “exercise” routine for the kids, while Clippers players DeAndre Jordan, Darren Collison, Jamal Crawford, Byron Mullens, and JJ Redick a “mini-hoops” clinic on the new court. The “Spirit” and all the players then helped Councilman Huizar with the “Ribbon-Cutting” ceremony of the new FIT Campus Playground area of the park. The event took place at the State Street Recreation Center, located in Boyle Heights, a vibrant section of Councilman Huizar’s 14th Council District. Rico Cabrera, Sr./Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com
