We invite all enthusiasts, especially those of our fans who closely follow distance running competitions, to come and meet Head Coach Louis Ramirez, Jr. and ELAC’s newest State Champion in Women’s Cross Country, Laura Aceves. We focus our attention on this outstanding athletic accomplishment from both the College’s, as well as the student-athlete’s perspective. The interview marks our first chance to speak with Coach Ramirez and learn more about him and his Cross Country-Track & Field teams, in both the Men’s and Women’s Divisions. Laura’s story is quite unique and captivating, since she was unexpectedly “discovered” and then recruited by Coach Ramirez during one of his cross country team’s work-out sessions at Legg Lake in the city of So. El Monte. The rest is now history, and can be witnessed for another full year, as Laura is only a Freshman.
