Note From The Editor: As we begin the 2015 football season, we take a moment to speak with the Head Football Coaches of teams we will be covering. Leading off in that regard, we invite all of our high school football fans, and the fans of Wilson High in particular, to view our pre-season interview with 25 year veteran Head Coach, Eddie Martinez. There was much to talk about and much to learn about Coach Martinez in this interview. One of the main topics spoken about was the upcoming 40th Anniversary and Team/Player Reunion of the 1975 City Championship Team, on Friday, September 25th at Wilson This gala event will coincide with the annual rivalry game with the Franklin “Panthers” in their “Battle For The Victory Bell.” We encourage all Wilson “Mighty Mules” Fans, Students, Alumni, and Community members to purchase your tickets as soon as possible. This should be a standing room only game and tickets may be very scarce in quantities.
Getting back to our In-Studio interview, Coach brought along his 2015 Team Captain, Senior, Offensive & Defensive Lineman, Daniel Avila, and we took the time to sit-down and speak with this outstanding, young student-athlete to round out our program. So, as we always say, pull up a chair, grab a refreshment, and begin to watch our story. Rico Cabrera, Sr./Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com
