Note From The Editor: Longtime high school football rivals, Garfield and Roosevelt, play for the annual bragging rights of the vast East Los Angeles community in this 78th Annual confrontation. Roosevelt is led by its Head Coach Javier Cid, and Team Captain, #3, Gilbert Herrera, while Garfield is led into the game by its Head Coach, Lorenzo Hernandez and Team Captain, #2, Lance Fernandez. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the biggest high school rivalry game West of the Mississippi River as some 20,000 fans will be in attendance. At stake in this game is a share of the C.I.F.’s, L.A. City Section, Eastern Conference title and a decent seeding that will come with it for the winning team. Rico Cabrera,Sr./Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com
