The annual press conference leading up to the East L.A. Classic once again took place at the game venue, Weingart Stadium, located on the campus of East Los Angeles Community College. Garfield and Roosevelt School Administrators, Coaches, and players attended the conference and spoke with East L.A. Sports Scene providing a great background into the preparations for this year’s “Big Game”. In addition, the President of the College made special remarks. As you will note, both schools go all out to prepare for this special annual rivalry week community event. Some 20,000 fans are expected to thoroughly enjoy, as well as witness this spectacular and proudly sponsored community festivity. The Roosevelt “Rough Riders” enter the game with an (8-1) overall record, (5-1) in Eastern League play, while the Garfield “Bulldogs” enter with a (3-5) overall record, and (3-0) in League play. Post-season “playoff” berths for both schools are in play and at stake, in this 78th Annual classic confrontation.
