(East Los Angeles, CA) October 1, 2020 [From The Editor’s Desk]: The L.A. Galaxy were looking for a new start during the big re-start of the MLS season. Coming into their home stadium last Sunday, 9/27, the Dignity Health Sports Park, were the #1 ranked team in the Conference, the Seattle Sounders FC, who were looking for a big-time road win. The Galaxy has been experiencing the “good” along with the “bad” times, the “bumps in the road,” and those “gremlins,” AKA, “slumps” at this point in the regular season. Now, their fans are starting to become a bit concerned for the upcoming Playoffs picture.
With that match preview and mind-set, the Galaxy went into the battle, with the return of Jonathan dos Santos, who logged a full 90 minutes as did his counterpart, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, who is now fully returned to action, but apparently not yet as offensively productive as the Team Management, his teammates, and fans would like him to be. There may, or may not be, sufficient time left in the schedule for the Galaxy to create the complete team chemistry coupled with a much-needed winning streak and rise into the playoff contention before the season ends. Hopefully, the addition of newcomer, and Colombian winger, Yony Gonzalez, will be the key new ingredient to help the Galaxy reach the playoffs. To view the match highlights, click here.

Match Summary: (1st Half) – The Sounders showed why they are at the top of the pack when their Super Star, Cristian Roldan, glided a great ground-level shot from directly in fronton the goal and then cleanly into the back of the net, just past the Galaxy’s goalkeeper, David Bingham. The play was a thing of beauty “aka” a solid “1-2 punch” with the assist coming on a perfectly placed crosser from his speedy and attacking left-winger, Jordan Morris. This came early on in the match at the 12th minute.
Another goal was provided by the Sounders when, at the 38th minute of play, forward, Jordan Morris, took a great 40 yard lead pass from Nicolás Lodeiro, captured it in full stride, and then with a mighty swing of his powerful left leg, he blasted it into the far right corner of the net from 20 yards out, just past the outstretched arms of goalkeeper, David Bingham, for the goal.
(Halftime Score): Sounders 2 Galaxy 0
(2nd Half): The Sounders attacked aggressively in the 61st minute when they scored on Roldan’s second goal of the match. It was a spectacular move and run past the Galaxy’s back-line by Roldan, who then received a perfect ground-ball assist from his midfielder, Joao Paulo, and sent it like a golfer’s “chip-shot” that sailed easily over the goal keeper, David Bingham‘s head and into the net.
The Galaxy put their one and only goal into the net, when at the 88th minute, Sebastian Lletget, culminated the attack with a nice “header,” after setting his sights on a cross from Rolf Feltscher. It got past the Sounders goalie, Stefan Frei, and ruined his shut-out bid. With the defeat, the Galaxy have dropped into 11th place and boast a record of (4-6-3 for 15 points).
(Final Score): Seattle Sounders FC 3 L.A. Galaxy 1
