Major League Baseball Players Alumni To Sponsor Special Youth Baseball Clinic on July 8th
Attention All East L.A. Youth Baseball Coaches! Here’s a great offer to have your players, who are at least 13 years of age, to register for this special Legends For Youth baseball camp sponsored by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni, an organization directly associated with Major League Baseball (MLB).
You are invited to participate in this FREE Legends for Youth Clinic. Former Major League Baseball players will teach you the fundamentals of the game and life skills.

East Side “Lights Out” Youth Football Camp: Final Camp at Evergreen Recreation Center, 10 am to 12 noon, Sunday, June 26th.
Camp Director,and Founder, Coach Mike Aguilar, invites all youth, ages 6-16 to come out to Evergreen Rec. Ctr. this Sunday, June 26th, from 10 am – 12 noon for its final camp of the season. It’s absolutely FREE and culminates a 5 month long weekly effort to encourage and safely train, both young boys and girls, in developing all of the skills needed to compete in the sport of Football. There will be FREE refreshments and food for all of the youth who attend this final camp. It’s a great way to spend high quality time with family, friends, and neighbors in our vast East L.A. sports community. Schurr High School Hosts Basketball Tryouts For 15 & Under Mexican National Team
Attention All East L.A. & Beyond Chicano Youth Basketball Coaches! Here’s another special announcement to our community that hopes to attract our best young basketball players for an outstanding opportunity to be evaluated by Coaches for consideration of a spot on Mexico’s 15 & Under National Team.
Head Varsity Basketball Coach, Mike Gavaldon, Jr., Schurr HS, and RIZE Athletics, President, invites all SoCal Mexican-American families with sons ages, 13,14, & 15 and with birthdates in 2001 or 2002, to come out on July 2nd, Saturday, and participate in open tryouts for the Mexican 15 & Under National basketball team. There will be a $50 registration fee with a commemorative T-shirt offered to all registrants to cover the event costs. L.A, Sparks Off To Best Start In Franchise History
If you are a Sparks and a WNBA fan, then you already know that the team is off to a flying start for the 2016 season. If you haven’t been to a game yet, then now’s the time to join in supporting our team. They are playing at an incredible winning pace that should easily put them into the post-seaon playoff picture. Game tickets are reasonably priced so the entire family can come out to see great basketball while having a fun-filled and exciting time at Staples Center. Boyle Heights Bridge Runners Going Strong and Growing
Don’t forget that each and every Wednesday evening at 7:45 pm, the Boyle Heights Bridge Runners leap into action by running across the 4th St. bridge. They then take on the course that takes them into downtown L.A. and then back to Boyle Heights. Come on out and get into the swing of things all healthy and social, as you meet new friends and join the growing number of inner city and East Side runners who look forward to this great workout every Wednesday. on! Here’s another great commuity fundraiser on tap for 7/16/16 at City Labs Boyle Heights, 553 S. Clarence St. LA 90033. All funds raised will go towards sponsoring our local youth, ages 5-12, so they can pariticpate in the ever-growing and very important, annual Boyle Hts. Munchkin Fun Run designed to promote greater wellness and physical fitness in the Boyle Hts. community. (See flyer for more details). So go ahead and mark calendars right now.
