As we roll into month No. 3 of the New Year, we have several new postings that describe what is coming up for this weekend. The first one on Saturday, 3/10 is a big fundraiser for the East L.A. Basketball Club, a co-ed youth program designed to offer training skills for youth, ages 5-15. The second event on Sunday, 3/11 is the annual community 4K event sponsored by Amigas Who Run. “East L.A. Runners” Become The Newest Running Group In Our Community
Every Tuesday night at 7 pm the run starts in earnest for this dedicated and new group of runners based in East L.A. They first assemble at Belvedere Park Lake and then set off for a very energetic and healthy run, walk, and jog through the community. See their Facebook page for more details.
Southern California Cycling Events
Thanks to our Garfield HS alumni and avid cyclist, Raul Castañeda, we have been informed of our first event offerings for the hundreds to thousands of cyclists from East L.A. and beyond. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cyclist, you’re welcomed to join in these exciting and adventurous sponsored local events. Go to their Facebook pages for more information.
