(Schurr High School, Montebello, CA)—Our first field production for 2020, features a very unique outreach appeal to football players that are interested in getting better at their craft. It is one that has been designed to offer FREE Football Camps for Special Teams kickers/punters, place-kickers, and long snappers. Our special program features an excellent look at, and behind the scenes of what specialists do in their workouts as they are mentored by the Camp Director and his volunteer coaches.
The principal character in our feature is its Creator, Founder, and Director, Vicente Peña. He is an alumnus of Wilson High School (L.A.) and lettered in varsity football, both as the team’s “Combo” punter and placekicker. He received the Mules’ Special Teams Player of the Year in his Senior year. He then moved on to play at East L.A. College where he earned a starting spot as the “Combo” kicker for the Huskies and in so doing, set (2) school records while breaking a total of (4). After he graduated with his Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in 2016, he was offered a full athletic scholarship to attend Lane College in Tennessee. He quickly became the team’s starting “Combo” kicking specialist. During his time at Lane, he kicked a 51 yard field goal and was responsible for a game-winning field goal in another.
Director Peña’s FREE “3-2-1” Specialist Camp offers a great opportunity for local kicking-game specialists (Kickers/Punters, Place-Kickers and Long Snappers) to improve their skills through their weekly attendance and attention to the coaching that takes place every Saturday morning at a time and location that is determined during the week. Participants of All ages are welcomed. For the first month of the Camp, more than 100 athletes from a wide ranging age group, have been beneficiaries of Coach Peña’s efforts. The next camp will be offered in March. Sign up and register now to insure your spot.
