(East Los Angeles, CA) August 13, 2021 [From The Editor’s Desk]: As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.” And for us here at East L.A. Sports Scene Productions, it was a great way to end our four days of credentialed media production, as all three of my digital photographers and videographers, Erik Sarni, Frankli Robles, Javier Pérez individually joined me on July 28th, July 31st, August 4th, and August 6th, during our initial coverage of the 2021 Rams Training Camp held at the University of California, Irvine Campus. To view our first three days of coverage, please click on the above-dated link.

I would like to take this time to gratefully and publicly thank the two Rams Communications representatives, Chase Isaacs, Manager, Corporate Communications, and Artis Twyman, VP, Communications for making it all possible. We will forever be thankful and appreciative to them, as you, our viewers and followers will now have the opportunity to read and view our first season of bringing you our coverage and perspective of the NFL, and its vital impact on our City, County, as well as on our highly supportive Chicano, Mexican-American, and Latino, L.A. Rams’ communities throughout Southern California.
But let’s now get to our final day of coverage which started with a pleasant surprise that came in the form of Mr. Isaacs asking Frankli and I to proceed to the Legends Autograph fans tent to record an interview with Legends Punter/Placekicker, #3, Frank Corral (1978-1981, 1978 Pro-Bowl-Rookie year, Super Bowl XIV player, 1 x All-Pro, 3rd Round Draftee, Orange Coast College, graduate of Norte Vista HS, Riverside, CA) and Legends Offensive Lineman/Guard, #60, Dennis Harrah, (Played all 13 yrs. with team, 1st Team All-Pro-1986, 6 x Pro-Bowl), who were both busy signing autographs for the multitudes of fans who were on scene.
Right after accomplishing this mission, there was just a few moments left to chat with Mr. Corral off-camera and it was great to learn a little about his youthful past. After learning we were representing East L.A., a big grin came over his face when he told me that, as a youngster, he was very familiar with the Casa Maravilla Barrio and loved playing football. Needless to say that it was great to have finally met the first Chicano and NFL punter/placekicker, who happened to represent just one of our many East Los Angeles communities.
Now back to the Camp…the Theme was “Vamos Rams” Day, the renowned and rapidly growing Mexicano and Latino Rams’ Spanish-language Fan Club. For more information about the Club, click here. It was presented by Toyota, and fans enjoyed “Live” musical performances from Mariachi Rams and the Rams Lotería in the Fan Activation Zone. Toyota also gave fans the opportunity to spin a prize wheel for the chance to win FREE giveaways.
Thirty minutes after the practice session ended, the inaugural Rams Celebrity Flag Football Game took center stage on the Main field. To see more about the huge list of celebrities who turned out and participated in all of the fun, click on this link, Celebrity Flag Football Game. The “11 vs.11” game was FREE and open to the public. The talented, and very well-known, DJ Mal-Ski provided the “play-by-play” calls for all of the fans who attended. There were also special skill challenges made to the Celebrities, like catching and fielding a 50 yard punt, thus providing much excitement, with the ooohs and the ahhhhs, for their particular fans and all attendees. Lastly, the much-awaited and well-liked crowd-pleasing “Meet-and-Greet” opportunities with the celebrities were also provided to fans during the post-game “cool down.” All-in-all, it was a very great and entertaining afternoon of family and fun at the 2021 Rams Training Camp.

And so, we close the book on this chapter of our time with the Rams and their thousands of fans who came out to support their team’s FREE of charge admission each and every day that Camp was held at the UC Irvine Campus. Now, as we move on into the pre-season and regular season, we’re excited and looking forward to attending our first game at So-Fi Stadium to bring you our ongoing coverage of our Los Angeles Rams. Till then, everyone stay safe and be well!
One last thought Of Significance. Please remember to follow the current federal, Center For Disease Control (CDC), and all other State, County, and Municipal Public Health and Safety guidelines, as we go through this latest, but still very threatening, phase of the COVID-19/Coronavirus and the new Delta variant.
