Note From The Editor: The first encounter of the 2014 baseball season between the Roosevelt “Rough Riders” and the Garfield “Bulldogs” was everything it was supposed to be- A Classic! Please enjoy our “spot coverage” of the game that took place on April 22nd at East L.A. College’s newest sports stadium. A perfect Spring night was the stage for both schools and their fans to come out and support these fine high school student-athletes. It was truly a pitchers’ game, as all the action occurred in the first three innings. Our coverage begins in the top of the 4th and lasts throughout the rest of the game. Watch as strong pitching and good, solid defense combine to earn the “Rough Riders” a very close win. Both teams were tied for 2nd in Eastern League play after the game with 4-1 records. The second game between these two rivals is scheduled for Thursday, May 15th at 6 pm, once again at East l.A. College’s baseball stadium.
