(East Los Angeles/Boyle Heights) August 6, 2021 [From The Editor’s Desk]: Our defending MLB World Champion L.A. Dodgers take a quick break from the baseball diamond to come into our community once again, this time to visit the Variety Boys & Girls Club, located at 2530 Cincinnati Street, Los Angeles, CA 90033.
The Dodgers and Walmart have partnered to distribute “back-to-school” backpacks to youth. The following Dodger players, Justin Turner, Chris Taylor, Will Smith and Joe Kelly will be on hand to pass out Dodger backpacks, notebooks, hats and shirts to students ages (5-17). Naomi Rodriguez, Dodger Vice President, External Affairs & Community Relations will also join the group of players in the scheduled activities. The event is set to start at 12 noon and last through 1:00pm.
