(East Los Angeles, CA) March 22, 2022 [From The Editor’s Desk]: It was a beautiful and sunny afternoon in Orange County for the Los Angeles Chargers to conduct a very big 2:00 PM Press Availability on March 16th, announcing their most recent “game + season changing” and substantial acquisition in the person of Khalil Mack, the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year (2016); a 3 × First-Team All-Pro (2015, 2016, 2018); a 6 x Pro Bowl pick (2015-2020); and a 2nd Team All Pro (2020). In addition, he has also been named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and in 2018 earned the prestigious Dick Butkus Award. He will be wearing his career uniform number, #52. His presentation was made to more than (30) members of the Los Angeles and Southern California press corps.

The 6-3, 31 year-old, 247 lb. Outside Linebacker and University at Buffalo graduate, a former Oakland Raider, (from 2014-2017), and most recently a Chicago Bear (from (2018-2021), spoke in soft, but direct tones as he faced a full Chargers Media Center room. His new Coach, Brandon Staley was also present but did not make any formal or joint appearance with Mack on the podium before the media outlets. A “1-on-1” interview period for those TV outlets present, was set aside for both men after the formalities of the press availability concluded.

Mack, appearing very relaxed, happy, and talkative, answered many basic questions about his new move to the Los Angeles Chargers and becoming a much-appreciated and sought-after asset to the team. He was interviewed by a host of news media organizations, including the NFL Network and local TV station, KTLA/Sports, Ch. 5, just to name a few.
Last thoughts, Mack is expected to co-anchor the Chargers seasoned “D-Line” and lead it upwards to a higher standard as he will now be paired quite nicely with one of the League’s “Best” —his new teammate, #97/Joey Bosa.
We will continue to bring Chargers stories during this “off-season” to those of our followers who are a big part of their strong and vocal fan-base residing here in East L.A. and Beyond.
(Special Note From The Editor): We are very grateful that the Chargers have added us, East L.A.
