(East Los Angeles, CA) [From the Editor’s Desk]: The Los Angeles Chargers proudly show their commitment to community inclusion by hosting events like this tournament, which involves various local and San Diego-based Armed Forces units. They actively support service members through engaging events like ‘The Battle of the Bases’ Flag Football tournament. Besides the players competing, their families also gathered to support and cheer on their loved ones.

Held annually, this third event occurred on a Saturday morning and afternoon at the Chargers’ advanced Training Facility and team Headquarters in El Segundo, CA. 

The team provides a brief summary of the day’s tournament, including a photo gallery featuring the two championship-winning teams from Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Coast Guard, as well as dynamic action shots from the competition.

Chargers Host the Third-Annual Battle of the Bases Flag Football Tournament

(“The Bolt”- Chargers Training Facility) The Los Angeles Chargers, American Airlines, and USAA hosted a flag football tournament on Saturday, June 27th, to bring together our nation’s service members for a day of military appreciation, competition, team-building, and camaraderie.

Hosted at The Bolt — the state-of-the-art training facility and corporate headquarters of the Los Angeles Chargers — the tournament featured 10 teams from the California Army National Guard, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Marine Corps Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Miramar, Los Angeles Army Recruiting, Edwards Air Force Base and the Coast Guard.

The two brackets of the tournament were won by Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Coast Guard, with each team winning a Championship Battle of the Bases belt and each player of those teams receiving tickets to a 2026 Chargers home game.
