#2 Note From The Editor: The #7 Bruins brought out the big guns on the final regular season home game against the #16 ranked Arizona Wildcats and soundly defeated them in five innings by a final score of 15-7. The pre-game celebration of recognizing ten seniors for their outstanding career contributions to the Bruin program played a key role in the team pulling together at home, just one more time for another big PAC-12 Conference win. The ten Bruin Seniors honored before the first-pitch were players: Ally Carda, Kaelin Sprawls, Stephany LaRosa, Jessica Amaral, Courtney Rivera, Marisa Schwartz, Tara Mueller, Sam Duran, and Gracie Goulder. Team manager, Maddi Mobley was also included in the recognition.
Game Summary: The Bruins went to work offensively from the first pitch of the game and by the time that the 1st inning was in the books, the Bruins had put up 4 runs. Other than a 5-run Arizona outburst to tie the game on a grand slam home run in the fourth inning, the #7 ranked team in the country had no problem putting its own runners into scoring position the entire game. The Bruins pounded out a total of 16 hits and committed only 1 error for the game. Much of the Bruins scoring came with 2-outs, but on crucial plays, the Wildcats succumbed to the deadly mistake of committing an excessive amount of errors. They were charged with six for the game. The Bruins, on the other hand, with their huge eight-run 4th inning, sealed the victory by producing a double digit run total with 15. By rule, the game ended when the run difference was eight after 5 innings of play.
