(Boyle Heights/East Los Angeles, CA) [From The Editor’s Desk]: That special Fall time of the year, for our longtime Boyle Heights community event, is coming on Saturday, October 19th, and it promises to be even bigger and better than past years. The organizers’ main goal, and why they annually host it, is to allow our community to promote healthy living, from our youngest to our eldest, and at the same time take over some of our most historic streets of Boyle Heights, even if only for a day.

Organizers of this annual fun run, better known as the Boyle Heights 5K Run/Walk, “Munchkin” Run, will take place on the already iconic 6th Street Bridge and a few avenues of our culturally distinctive Boyle Heights community so very well-known for its wide variety of residents who call our City of Los Angeles and this neighborhood, Home.

Below is the event flyer with information for community members and community-based agencies to view and then learn more about registering members of your family and the community at large for the 5K Run/Walk.

Organizers are glad to announce that 250 Munchkins, from the ages of 1 through 10, will participate FREE of charge.

Next, if you are an avid or longtime custom car enthusiast, or as we also say, aficionado, and want to see the 50 “Best” Classics in town, then you must come out on the 19th. There will be a great mixture of the Customs, Hot Rods, Restomods, Trucks, VW’s and Muscles, along with several eye-catching “Lowriders.” To get your up-close view and a few pictures, just take the time, to make the time, and come out to enjoy the good time moments of this exceptional autumn Boyle Heights Day. It’ll be an inviting environment that you’ll remember for quite some time while you spend some time in our great community.

On a final note, organizers highly recommend to all who are traveling to the event on public transportation from a reasonable City and County distance, that you take the Metro’s “Gold Line” and exit at the “Mariachi Plaza” stop on 1st and Boyle St.
