ANGEL CITY FOOTBALL CLUB KICKS OFF 2023 SEASON THIS SUNDAY AT BMO STADIUM AGAINST NJ/NY GOTHAM FC
Full Day of Activities Leads into Highly-Anticipated Return of ACFC to the Pitch Including a Soccer Clinic, Pre-Game Fan Fest
LOS ANGELES (March 23, 2023) – This Sunday, March 26, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) will take the pitch at BMO Stadium for its inaugural match of the 2023 season, taking on east coast rivals NJ/NY Gotham FC. The full day of activities begins at 1:00 p.m. with a special soccer clinic for members of Girls Play LA and will culminate with the kickoff of Angel City FC’s regular season.
–MATCH DAY ACTIVITIES–
At 1:00 pm there will be a Soccer Clinic at Expo Center with Girls Play LA in partnership with BMO. The Girls Play LA (GPLA) Leadership Academy provides high school-aged girls and gender expansive youth with access to no-cost soccer and dedicated leadership development. Through Angel City FC’s Sponsorship Model, BMO a total of (50) participants will be beneficiaries of this exemplary gesture.
Continuing with the day’s rundown, at 2:00 pm, Fan-Fest will open outside the Northwest entrance of BMO Stadium. For those fans who have not yet attended an ACFC Fan-Fest, you are in for a very good treat. It will take place at Christmas Tree Lane, located on the Northwest side of BMO Stadium.
Scheduled to appear at Fan-Fest are the following performers: DJ MaL-Ski, Versa-Style Dance Company Performance and Interactive Workshop Fan Dance Battle. Also, look for REPRESENT Jersey Experience, and 360 Photo Booth on the Northwest Plaza, along with Spirit Stations, Games Zone, Giveaways, and Partner activities.
To close out our description of the many activities taking place, here’s a “heads up” alert for fans regarding Giveaways. Two items will be offered, one a Foam Handle Flag and the second, a Commemorative Poster. So don’t miss out on your chance to go home with a giveaway.
After the soccer clinic, at 2:15 pm, the BMO/Girls Play LA/Angel City FC Leadership Panel will be held in Founders Club, located on the 3rd level. The participants will include, Julie Uhrman, Co-Founder and President of ACFC; Angela Hucles Mangano, GM of ACFC; and Jana Masiewich, Managing Director, Sponsorship Marketing at BMO Financial. The panel will end at 3:00 pm.
Later on, at 4:30 pm the BMO Main Gates will open for fans, and one hour later, after many fans have found their seats and settled in for the scheduled match, at 5:30 pm the In-Stadium Entertainment will begin with a “Live” performance by recording artist “Snow Tha Product,” followed by a ceremonial “Three Clap.”
And, in sequencing to the final countdown of the match kick-off at 6:00 pm, once both teams, along with their youthful escorts, and match officials take to the pitch for their pre-match formation, the singing of our National Anthem will be performed by “NBC4 Today in L.A.” Meteorologist, Belen De Leon. Shortly thereafter, the match will start and the 2023 ACFC season will be officially underway.
